Can't type 'I'

Hi all,
when I'm in the 'Report'-environment, and e.g. click into
the field named 'Titre', I can't enter an uppercase 'I'.
Nothing happens.
Lowercase 'i' is o.k. . Also, in any other application
typing of uppercase 'I' works fine.
Is this a problem of my installation/X-configuration or
is this a bug ?
Also, sometimes, when I exit 'thot', the keyboard won't
work anymore the way it used to do.
I'm working under a linux-box (=>XFree86 3.1.1).
Thus from time to time I want to change to the console via
<Ctrl>-<Alt>-<Fx> .
This won't work anymore after I entered 'thot' and quit it
(in a normal way, no crash).
Then, 'thot' crashed once, when I entered the 'letter'-environment
and typed a text over 4 lines in the 'expediteur'-field.
The text was written *over* the 'date'-field (both were visible
on top of each other). Then 'thot' crashed.

Have a nice day,
R"udiger
